Hello everyone!

I'm the cool chick behind Dovely Departures, a travel blog that was born from my insatiable wanderlust. My love for travel kicked off with family road trips across the United States, where I became a printed map aficionado and enthusiast of all things new and different along the way. 

Fast forward a few decades, I found myself working for a tech company specializing in—you guessed it—maps! Picture me geeking out over maps of places I'd never been. Surrounded by globe-trotting colleagues, I realized it was time I got my own passport stamped. Without any actual travel plans (hello, spontaneity!), I got myself a passport and pounced on the first chance to depart. Destination? Bonjour, Paris!  I scraped up my airline points to visit a friend that was studying abroad, and the rest was history.

Since that initial leap across the pond, I've racked up visits to 43 countries, diving headfirst into diverse cultures, delectable cuisines, and countless death-defying adventures. Through Dovely Departures, I aim to share my escapades and encourage you to embrace your inner explorer. Whether you're a seasoned traveler or a newbie to the jet-setting life, join me as I spill the tea on my tales, tips, and the occasional travel mishap.
